One florist, one bench, a short list
Petalmere is not a shop with a shopfront. It is a private florist working from a home studio, buying small at the market and making a handful of bouquets a day.
How the week works
Flowers are bought two or three mornings a week, in the quantity that has already been asked for. That is why the catalogue is short and why a bouquet is described by its style rather than by a fixed recipe: the roses that were beautiful on Tuesday may be replaced by something better on Friday.
Fresh bouquets are made on the day they are delivered and taken out by the florist. Dried flowers, vases, snips and ribbon are kept in stock in the studio and posted.
Substitutions, honestly
Seasonal flowers run out. If a stem in your bouquet is not good enough on the day, it is swapped for one of similar value and character, and the change is mentioned in the reply before you agree to anything.
Why the basket goes to email
Flowers are perishable and delivery of a fresh bouquet has to fit a real day and a real address. Rather than guess at a checkout, the basket is sent as an enquiry: you get back availability, a delivery cost for your address, possible dates and payment options in writing.
